 Our Story.

Muscle Garden Family Small.jpg

Muscle Garden

was founded in 2012 by Kay Nyenuh when he decided he wanted to combine his love for fitness with his passion for helping people.

Coming from a war-torn country and a childhood of helplessness living in multiple refugee camps, Kay understood what it meant to be in a position of needing support, which is how he developed such a genuine passion for helping people. It is the combination of his two passions that has led to the incredible success of our clients, and business. Kay also understood why so many people avoided gyms, and he wanted to create an environment where everyday people of all shapes, sizes, ages and genders felt welcomed, comfortable, supported and encouraged to achieve their health and fitness goals – no matter how big or small. And so, Muscle Garden was born.

The meaning of our name

The name Muscle Garden is drawn from the analogy between a garden of plants to that of the human body. I believe the human body is a garden of muscles.

We have over 640 different muscles in our body - all grouped into Cardiac muscles (muscles of your heart), skeletal muscles (muscles of your arms, legs, back etc.) and smooth muscles (muscles lining the walls of your blood vessels). And just as how one would look after their garden of plants by watering it, fertilising it, exposing it to sunlight, getting rich dark soil for it, plucking the weeds and pruning it if they wanted their garden of plants to bloom, flourish and look admirable, so too with our body – our garden of muscles.

If we want to look and feel great and prevent or ward off diseases such as obesity, diabetes, osteoporosis, depression and anxiety, certain types of cancers etc then we have to look after our garden of muscles with proper nutrition and exercise. This will intern give us the energy we need to run around with our children or grandchildren, the strength we need to get through our daily activities, the mental clarity to think clearly and the self-esteem we need to live our best lives amongst other things.

Muscle Garden is not a building with four walls. Muscle Garden is YOU and it is my hope that when you walk into a Muscle Garden gym, you’ll produce your best results yet. The human body is a garden of muscles. Don’t be a bad gardener.
